THE CHANGER

In 2014 I spent three months cutting up licorice snails, and glueing them on a 120cm x 80cm piece of wood because I was fascinated by the aesthetic oft of the martial when simply presented in a different form.

coated with two layers of Epoxid-Gießharz.

Originally the “liquorice project” started with a clutch made of liquorice, designed for a photo
shooting. Stunned by the visual effect of the material, the designer Cherie proceeded to make
further objects using liquorice as the surface material, with an aesthetic design as the basis of
her inspiration. Over the course of three months, the idea of making an originally textured
surface developed into a fascination of the change a new dimension can give to a process, as
does the geometrical form which comes towards the viewer and changes the flow of liquorice
pieces. To conserve the liquorice from changing over time, each single piece of liquorice was
