She is beautiful. She is strong. She is soft. She is powerful. She can see you. And she decides what you are going to see.
Different perspectives in the same place.
I love working with this kind of light, it brings a sense of strength with it. The shadows make me curious. That's where the stories and history of a person lie.
I photoshopped off the logo on the sweater because it has nothing to do with how I see Lydia . We only met at this shooting, but what has stuck with me for a while were her efforts not to let food go to waste when she was working in Cape Town. I remember a little instastory where she went out of her way to make sure the food she had left over when she departed didn't land in the trash. ♥️
It has something to do with caring about each other, being understood and trust.
Something about how we're better together.
Things I liked.
Mai really inspired me when she told me that she gave everyone in her company access to the bank account except herself. We met on a weekend out of the city and I automatically fell in love with her honest and natural ways. Meeting people who go for their passion and do what they believe in always reminds me of how powerful our minds are.
Madelaine DeRose Schäfer is a stylist with a wardrobe full of stories. Most pieces she has collected during her travels, sometimes this even involved convincing local market women to sell what they were wearing them selves, or trading what she had. Every single piece you can see here has history, that is something you cannot create, it takes time. If you want to get in touch with her this is where to go.
One of my favourite things to do is to go on walks. I love walking in open doors and observing strangers. On this day Ernst inspired me to walk from Schöneberg to Mitte to go pick up my bicycle instead of taking the train/bus. You can click on his name and follow his journey, walking 3000km by foot from Vienna to Marocco.
This is what I saw on my walk.
This was my first time shooting with kids, and we had so much fun. I love connecting with different generations through my work. We all have so much to learn from each other
I can recommend these two when you are looking for young actors.
Some snaps I took at my sisters wedding.
You need one.
Captured during a time of self reflection.
Two weeks in New York. Living in four different parts of the city. Single and holding hands with over 50 strangers.
My first time in Thailand. In a relationship and seeing my father for the first time in 10 years.
